Volunteer of the Month
CFL relies heavily on volunteers to get the job done! Over 400 volunteers have passed through our doors since 1999, and we appreciate every single one of them.
To show our appreciation for our current volunteers we created our Volunteer of the Month Program. We are excited to share the dedication and creativity of our volunteers with you!
July's Volunteer of the Month
Kate Shields (CFL Board Member)
Use of memorial fundraising page (over $5000 raised)
When CFL implemented the use of new fundraising web pages, Kate Shields jumped in with no hesitation. Kate reached out to her vast network of friends, family and associates, with a fundraising goal of $5,000 - enough to provide a respite excursion and port support for a family in need. Making her efforts even more meaningful, she chose to dedicate all funds raised through her page to the memory of her father, Michael "Mickey" Groark.
