Davenport, Florida
In March, 2002, Crossing the Finish Line began welcoming Sailors to our first respite home in Davenport, Florida. The home is located in the Orlando vicinity, a setting that is peaceful and refreshing for our Sailors' excursions. Guests are greeted by home-baked treats prepared by friendly neighbors, neighbors who ensure our special home is treated with TLC year 'round.
Sailors visit the home for one-week excursions and their reviews of the home have been tremendous. Crossing the Finish Line hopes to add more respite homes in the future for Sailor excursions.
We proudly renovated the Davenport home in November, 2004. Thanks to the help of Painting by Beth and Rooms to Go, we enhanced the decor to create a cheery, warm, inviting destination for our Sailors.
