In a Sailor's Words

"We just can't thank you enough for the most relaxing vacation we've ever had.  Marco Island was the perfect spot to recover.  It really was good for us - too bad I start another round of chemo today, but at least we go into the treatment relaxed and rejuvenated," Barbara Cremean

Barbara, age 47, has been treating for cancer since February 2009.  Barbara and her husband, Michael, traveled to a donated home on Marco Island in October 2009.

Gala 2010 Logo CFL's 10th Annual Beach Ball Gala and VIP Reception

Saturday, January 30, 2010
The Crystal Tea Room, Downtown Philadelphia
Supported by: 95.7 BEN-FM

Online registration is OPEN!   The $125 ticket price includes dinner, drinks, dancing and chances to win amazing auction and raffle items throughout the evening.

This year has become the year of the survivor, as presentations will be made by three CBS Survivor Contestants.

Ethan Zohn, Winner of Survivor: Africa and Co-Founder of Grassroot Soccer was slated to be the guest speaker at the VIP Reception.  Ethan was diagnosed with a rare form of Hodgkins disease in April and he was feeling great...then he received news in August that his cancer was back (read more here).  Although Ethan recently received good news (view his video blog for People magazine), he will not be able to travel to Philadelphia.

Ethan and his caregiver and girlfriend, Jenna Morasca (Winner of Survivor: Amazon), will tape a video presentation for the VIP Reception Guests.  Adding to this, Ethan has arranged for fellow Survivor alum, Chad Crittenden to attend the Gala and make a presentation in his place.  Chad was a contestant on Survivor: Vanuatu and is also a cancer survivor (read more about Chad here).   Admission to the VIP reception is only $250 (includes a Beach Ball Gala Ticket) and will give you access to these inspirational moments, as well as testimonies from CFL's Founder, Marci Bossow Schankweiler and CFL Sailors.

Sponsored in Part By: ASTM International, Maryann Pastry Shoppe, Roffman Miller Associates, Inc., McMahon Agency, Internet Capital Group, Inc., The Christopher and Ellen McGuire Foundation, DGA Partners.

A Special Thanks to Our Gift In Kind Donors: Finley Catering, Brandywine Realty Trust, Blake Florists & Decorators, Do the Right Theme, JMJ Direct, Ravenwood Creative, Johnson's Popcorn.
